The purpose of this study was to comprehensively study and compare the molecular gene expression profiles of common melanocytic nevi (GSE53223), dysplastic nevi (GSE53223), and primary melanoma. Whole tissue samples of 5 common melanocytic nevi and 7 dysplastic nevi (GSE53223) and 16 primary melanomas were obtained via excisional biopsy and subjected to microarray analysis.
