Long-term biocide effect on the souring microbial community structure

In this project, we applied one-off biocide treatments to a complex sulfate-reducing microbial community in a souring scenario and monitored the microbial community change over a period of one year. This way we investigated the long-term biocide effect on the microbial community. The biocides we used included glutaraldehyde and one aldehyde-releasing biocide provided by the industrial partner, both at low or high dosage.
