This dataset is global monthly Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) data, with a spatial resolution of 0.5° (approximately 55 km), covering the period from January 1901 to December 2018, and stored in TIFF format. It is calculated based on the Log-logistic distribution of the difference between Precipitation and Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) across different time scales, and was computed and released using the source code provided by SPEIbase v.2.6. The TIFF files are generated through processes including data download, format conversion, image mosaicking, and outlier removal, and contain data files with time scales ranging from 1 to 12 months.
