Biomechanical Characterization of Metacarpal Fixation: Internal Load Determination and Evaluation of a Novel Adhesive Osteosynthesis

An Acumen (MTS, Eden Prairie, MN, United States) electrodynamic testing machine was equiped with a 3 kN load cell. The testing machine displaced the sample at a rate of 1 mm/s and test were repeated 3 times. The test were sampled at 128 Hz. An Aramis SRX (GOM GmbH, Braunschweig, Germany) sterographic camera system measured the displacement of two optical flags at 2 hz.
