Dynamically downscaled climate data for the New South Wales wheat belt

The collection comprises ASCII files of climate data for a number of locations in the New South Wales (NSW) wheat belt. These files contain daily temperature, rainfall and solar radiation data for a selection of time periods in the 20th and 21st centuries. They are being used by researchers at the Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute and the University of New South Wales to investigate how the impact of climate change on wheat cropping in NSW may be assessed using the APSIM agricultural model.

The collection was derived from a ~10km resolution Regional Climate Model (RCM) simulation. Although derived from a single RCM simulation, the collection demonstrates the type of data that will be available from the ensemble of RCM simulations being run by the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Regional Climate Model (NARCliM) project.
