Largest banks in Latin America 2023, by market capitalization

Brazilian banks dominated the Latin American banking industry in terms of market capitalization in 2023. The five largest banks in the region were all Brazilian. Itaú Unibanco had the highest market capitalization with 68.13 billion U.S. dollars. The largest non-Brazilian bank in Latin America was Banco de Chile, with a market capitalization of 11.75 billion U.S. dollars.
