Visualise Your Thesis - Sustainable Food Consumption Research

This video was created for the University of Adelaide's Visualise Your Thesis 2025 competition. It summarises my doctoral research on transforming towards sustainable food consumption, with a focus on the everyday practices of home cooking.The project develops a new conceptual framework of sustainable food consumption, viewing it as a integrated process of acquisition, usage, and disposal. Using survey data from over 700 households in Ho Chi Minh City, the research investigates cooking practices, food waste patterns, and behavioural drivers.The findings highlight crutial role of household decision-making in reducing food waste and advancing sustainable consumption. By connecting academic insights with practical solutions, this work contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and offers evidence to support policies and interventions promoting low-wast food systems.
