资源简介:

Soil polygons in this layer have been created from the USCS and StATSGO soils layers from the NRCS. Where USCS polygons didn't cover an area, STATSGO polygons were merged into the layer. The USCS Group Code found in the STATSGO Layer file was applied to those STATSGO polygons and all merged polygons were attributed based on the GroupSym value regardless of original soil layer. Seepage Rates were provided in a paper written by Alabama A & M and Auburn Uiversities for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (Bulletin 599, August 1989). From Wikipedia: The Unified Soil Classification System(USCS) is a soil classification system used in engineering and geology to describe the texture and grain size of a soil. The classification system can be applied to most unconsolidated materials, and is represented by a two-letter symbol. Each letter is described below (with the exception of Pt). Group definition: First letter Symbol Definition G gravel S sand M silt C clay O organic PT Highly organic (Peat) Second letter Symbol Definition P poorly graded (uniform particle sizes) W well-graded (diversified particle sizes) H high plasticity L low plasticity SSURGO/STATSGO2 Metadata | Natural Resources Conservation Service
