The pathosystem consisting of tomato plants cv. Heinz 1706 infected with a severe isolate of Citrus exocortis viroid (CEVd) was studied through the lens of the transcriptome and the degradome using high-throughput sequencing technologies.This study was set to provide experimental validations of potential PTGS and RdDM targets of CEVd through the mapping and quantification of small RNA and parallel analysis of RNA ends (PARE) reads on the tomato genome and its coding sequences.
