The 500-meter-resolution spatially and temporally continuous cropping pattern dataset (CPChina) of China (2005–2020) provides detailed information on cropping intensity and grain crop types. Specifically, the cropping patterns include monocropping of the three staple grain crops (rice, maize and wheat) and other individual crops, double cropping of staple grain crops (i.e., rice-maize), and multiple cropping (i.e., crop rotation between grain crops and other crops) involving staple grain crops (rice, maize and wheat) and other crops, among others.
