Mind-Wandering Uncertainty S1

Cleaned data set for correlational study observing the relationships between mind-wandering, uncertainty, intolerance of uncertainty, and affect. We hypothesized that intolerance of uncertainty would be positively related to mind-wandering. We found that felt uncertainty and trait intolerance of uncertainty were positively related to both spontaneous and deliberate mind-wandering. Exploratory analyses indicated that the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and spontaneous mind-wandering was partially mediated by negative affect, but not positive affect. Additionally, we found an indirect effect of intolerance of uncertainty on deliberate mind-wandering via positive affect, but not negative affect. We also found that trait intolerance of uncertainty and felt uncertainty were strongly related.
