We report that the lncRNA SCAT7 (ELF3-AS1) is involved in the activation of the DNA damage response in cisplatin resistant LUAD cells, akin cisplatin in sensitive cells. Therefore SCAT7 is a potential therapeutic target for drug resistant cancers Overall design: Effects of cisplatin treatment were assessed for cisplatin resistant (A549/cDDP) cells and their parental cell line by RNA-Seq. Evaluation of the role of lncRNA SCAT7 in a therapeutic approach alternative to cisplatin in A549/cDDP cells was assessed by RNA-Seq following lncRNA knockdown, in presence or absence of drug treatment.
