Revegetation in Westgate Park providing on-ground training for the Green Army

The project will extend the revegetated area of Westgate Park by the planting of native plants common in the area prior to European settlement to improve the biodiversity in this area along the Yarra River and close to Port Phillip Bay. Activities will include revegetation, weed and pest survey and management, seed collection and propagation, debris removal, site preparation and community participation and engagement. The project will include the regular monitoring of the work to ensure objectives are met. The project will be delivered by the Green Army Team in conjunction with the Friends of Westgate Park experienced volunteers and community participants with a record of successfully completing similar projects.
