From top to bottom: exploration of microbial community assemblages throughout Sverdrup Glacier

This study seeks to examine the microbial assemblages found throughout a High Arctic Glacier (Sverdrup Glacier, Devon Island, NU) from the supraglacial environment to the glacier bed. In tandem, this study also seeks to understand how microbial communities interact with glacial dissolved organic matter (DOM) in ice containing varying sediment loads, impacting the DOM content that gets released to downstream ecosystems during melt.
