In the summer of 2007, we collected soils from treatment plots that are maintained as part of the Arctic Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) site at Toolik Lake, AK (68o38'N, 149o34'W, elevation 760m), since 1989. Treatments include warming by greenhouses and fertilization (10 g m-2 year-1 N as NH4NO3; and 5 g m-2 year-1 P as Ca P) in a factorial design. Three replicate soil cores were taken from each tratment plot. Plant roots were obtained from soil cores by washing. Roots were assessed for ectomycorrhizal status using microscopy.
