Determination of genome mutations in E. coli cultures evolved under repeated monochloramine, ferrate, or water treatment. Cultures were cultivated and regrown for 48h intervals up to 32 times with 60 min disinfection epiosdes in between each growth interval. The accompanying VCF file details the gene sequence variations in the ancestral and evolved culture genomes.1- Ancestral cultures (round 1) are denoted as A0, B0, C0, D0, E0.2- Replicate cultures evolved under monochloramine stress after 32 disinfection rounds are denoted as AH-C32, BH-C32. CH-C32, DH-C32, EH-C32.3- Replicate cultures evolved under water treatment (controls) after 32 treatment rounds are denoted as AC-C32, BC-C32, CC-C32, DC-C32, EC-C32.4- Replicate cultures evolved under ferrate stress after 12 treatment rounds are denoted as AF-C12, BF-C12, XF-C12 and after 32 treatment rounds AF-C32, BF-C32, XF-C32.5- CP023383.fa: Escherichia coli strain 1223 chromosome (complete genome) used as a reference genome for mapping (FASTA file)
