The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Nisbet et al. (1981) Eur J Biochem 115: 335-345 [PMID: 7016535]. The authors report an Arg residue instead of a Lys at position 9, determined by microsequencing of the N-terminus of the CNBr fragment. The anti-OVA mAbs bound to the epitope, a CNBr-derived fragment of OVA. The mAbs, except Nos. 11 and 19, bound to more than one non-overlapping fragment on immunoblots. MAbs Nos. 1, 2, 7, 8, and 19 are IgM and Nos. 4, 9, 11, 12, 15, 17, 20, 21, and 23 are IgG1.
