Sediment Carbon-Nitrogen Content and Particle Size Characteristics During Mangrove Restoration

This dataset originates from a field-based study investigating changes in sediment physicochemical properties during mangrove ecosystem restoration. The study focuses on two stages of Pond-to-Mangrove Restoration (PTMR): four years after restoration (PTMR4) and eight years after restoration (PTMR8). Data were collected from tropical coastal wetland sites, with the aim of assessing how mangrove vegetation recovery influences sediment carbon and nitrogen content as well as particle composition. The dataset includes the following variables: Sample Type (Type): PTMR4 or PTMR8 Sediment Organic Carbon (SOC, mg/g) Sediment Total Nitrogen (STN, mg/g) Carbon-to-Nitrogen Mass Ratio (C/N, mg C per mg N) Particle Size Metrics: D10, D50, D90 (μm) Particle Composition: Clay (%), Silt (%), Sand (%) pH Value Soluble Salt Content (SS, ‰).
