Cooper Basin Surface Water Preliminary Assessment Extent v02

## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from the Lake Eyre Basin Surface water Potential Assessment Extents v01 (GUID: 58be9173-4f37-4a0e-96cd-c35f9ce35e18), Bioregional Assessment areas v02 (GUID: e414b1b3-c42e-42e9-9cc4-2093054aa35f) and GEODATA TOPO 250K Series 3 datasets (GUID: a0650f18-518a-4b99-a553-44f82f28bb5f). The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThis dataset provides a preliminary assessment extent (PAE) for the Cooper subregion within the Lake Eyre Basin Bioregional Assessment Area. The preliminary assessment extent is the area which has potential for surface water to be impacted by coal mine and coal seam gas activity that may occurs within the Cooper basin subregion boundary. This PAE is derived using the initial Cooper surface water PAE from the Lake Eyre Basin Surface water Potential Assessment Extents v01 dataset (GUID: 58be9173-4f37-4a0e-96cd-c35f9ce35e18) and adding an additional 20km buffer around the subregion boundary taken from the Bioregional Assessment areas v02 dataset (GUID: e414b1b3-c42e-42e9-9cc4-2093054aa35f). \n\n\n\nFeatures included from source datasets include: \n\nLakes which intersect the Cooper subregion from the GEODATA TOPO 250K Series 3 dataset (GUID: a0650f18-518a-4b99-a553-44f82f28bb5f)\n\nCooper subregion boundary as taken from the Bioregional Assessment areas v02 dataset (GUID: e414b1b3-c42e-42e9-9cc4-2093054aa35f)\n\nA derived 20km buffer of the Cooper subregion boundary\n\n \n\nThis PAE does not include springs, bores or groundwater features.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThis PAE is derived using the initial Cooper surface water PAE from the Lake Eyre Basin Surface water Potential Assessment Extents v01 dataset (GUID: 58be9173-4f37-4a0e-96cd-c35f9ce35e18) and adding an additional 20km buffer around the Cooper subregion boundary as taken from the Bioregional Assessment areas v02 dataset (GUID: e414b1b3-c42e-42e9-9cc4-2093054aa35f). \n\n\n\nThe final PAE output is polygon Feature Class named Cooper_SW_PAE_v02 within the geodatabase.\n\n\n\nTwo maps are also provided to demonstrate the differences between the version 1 and version 2 PAEs.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nGeoscience Australia (2013) Cooper Basin Surface Water Preliminary Assessment Extent v02.
