Gastrodia elata Blume is one of preciously used medicine-food herbs which is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. In this study, the transcriptome of tubers, stems and flowers from G. elata were sequenced through BGISEQ-500 platform. Our results greatly enrich the transcriptomic data of G. elata and provide valuable information for the identification of candidate genes involved in the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites.
