Potential anti-obesity effects of a xylooligosaccharide-rich hydrolysate from wheat straw
收藏资源简介:
THIS DATASET WILL BE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS THE RELATED PAPER IS ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION BY THE JOURNAL. The aim of the study is to evaluate the potential of xylooligosaccharide-rich hydrolysate from wheat straw to improve some obesity-related conditions. The dataset includes comprehensive analytical and experimental in vitro data in on the prebiotic, antidiabetic and antiadipogenic capacity of the hysrolysate. For the study of prebiotic potential, 48-hour faecal fermentations were carried out in the presence and absence of XOS from wheat straw and commercial XOS using a pool from four obese donors as an inoculum. During the assay, pH, short chain fatty acids, gas production and XOS consumption were analysed. At the end of the assay, bacterial DNA extraction was made to sequence 16S rRNA gene and characterized microbiota variations promoted by XOS. Antidiabetic assay was studied in vitro measuring the inhibition of glucosidase in presence of XOS. Antidipogenic assay consisted in differenciate 3T3-L1 cells into adipocytes in the presence/absence of the hydrolysate and evaluate the accumulation of fat in the cells. The data support the use of wheat straw-derived XOS as health-promoting nutraceuticals and functional food ingredients with prebiotic and antidiabetic capacities, but no the direct antiadipogenic capacity of the hydrolysate in vitro.
