The most important factor is human beings – personnel security as part of information security is a general guide to the organisation of personnel security in ministries, agencies and institutions. The new guideline deals with personnel security, especially from the point of view of information security. VAHTI has steered the preparation of the guidelines and approved the instructions for use in the development, guidance and cooperation of central government information security. The guide complements the extensive existing VAHTI guidelines. The guidelines are aimed at the management of ministries and agencies. The guide describes good personnel security practices from the point of view of information security. The management of each organisation decides and is responsible for the use and development of adequate personnel safety procedures within the organisation. (7.9.2011)
