METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A FIBROUS MATERIAL WEB IN A PAPERMAKING MACHINE

The invention relates to a device and method for producing a fiber mat (1) which is particularly suitable for use in the production of packaging paperboard or fibrous material-containing construction elements from a fibrous material-containing starting material. Said method comprises the following steps: a) providing the fibrous material-containing starting material (13); b) processing， using only little water， the fibrous material-containing starting material (13) in an air current to stock comprising individual fibers and/or fiber bundles; c) forming the individual fibers and/or fiber bundles by a dry forming process in an air current to a fiber mat (1) by way of a dry forming process; such that the fiber mater forms a three-dimensional structure; d) solidifying the formed fiber mat (1); the specific volume of the fiber mat (1) being higher than 1.6 cm 3/g， particularly higher than 2 cm3/g， preferably higher than 3 cm3/g and the fiber mat thickness being ≥ 1 mm， particularly ≥ 1.5 mm， preferably ≥ 2 mm.
