These surveys were conducted to collect data on travel origins and
destinations, trip purposes, and travel characteristics of New York City
Transit, Metro-North Railroad, and Long Island Rail Road customers with
the aim of upgrading the MTA's travel forecasting tools and gaining a
better understanding of how people travel.
