CTD data salinity, temperature, depth collected aboard the R/V Point Sur PS23-04 (DP08, in-situ deep seawater and associated fauna) in the Gulf of Mexico, from 2022-07-27 to 2022-08-07

Deep water sampling of in situ seawater and associated fauna (DEEPEND cruise DP08, 2022-07-27 - 2022-08-07) aboard the R/V Point Sur (cruise PS23-04) in an area roughly encompassing 27.8°N to 29°N and 87°W to 88.5°W. This dataset includes the salinity, temperature, and depth data from the ship's CTD, which was deployed at each of the DEEPEND stations. The depth of the casts varies but extends from near-surface waters to below the euphotic zone. These data are used in the assessment of the water column's vertical structure and for comparison with physical models. The DP08 CTD dataset includes the raw CTD files from the ship's Seabird 911plus CTD, which can be reprocessed using the Seabird SBE-DataProcessing software. Additional data collected during this cruise are available in GRIIDC datasets NO.x959.000:0015 (underway and ADCP, doi:10.7266/nysgy6h4), NO.x959.000:0006 (MOCNESS trawl data, doi:10.7266/2JR97MGC), and NO.x959.000:0010 (fauna inventory).
