Orthomosaic and digital surface model of Edgeworth David Camp, Bunger Hills, 22nd December 2022.

The Australian Antarctic Division was carrying out works in the 2022/23 austral summer at the Edgeworth David base, Bunger Hills, in order to prepare a field camp for the Denman Terrestrial Campaign. Drone pilots from the Environmental Stewardship Program were requested to map the area as part of the environmental permit conditions. The remediation team (Dr Rebecca McWatters, Gwilym Price, Kasey Williams) conducted a drone mapping survey with a DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone, in December 2022, using a mission pre-loaded into the DJI Pilot 2 software by Dr Dan Wilkins. The survey area was designed in consultation with the Australian Antarctic Data Centre mapping team and the ESP permit team). Results from the photogrammetric survey area included in this data packageSFM (structure from motion) photogrammetry was used to generate an orthomosaic and digital surface model (DSM) of Edgeworth David Camp, Bunger Hills, from 1,538 downwards facing (nadir) photographs acquired with a DJI Matrice 300 quadcopter (drone), running a Zenmuse P1 RGB 35mm sensor, on the 22nd December 2022. Processing was done in Pix4DMapper Desktop 4.7.5
