Transcriptomes of eight ants distributed in Mu Us Desert

In this study, we choose eight desert ants from six genus in Formicidae Latreille, 1809: Cataglyphis aenescens (Nylander, 1849), Formica approximans Wheeler, 1933, Lasius coloratus Wheeler, 1933, Proformica mongolica (Emery, 1901), Proformica muusensis sp. nov., Tapinoma geei Wheeler, 1927, Tapinoma rectinotum Wheeler, 1927, and Tetramorium tsushimae Emery, 1925. Two of them were collected in the desert after artificial planting and management: C. aenescens and T. tsushimae, and others were collected in the native desert. We report on the generation and availing of transcriptomic resources for 8 desert ants and compared the differences in the physiological activity genes between native desert ants and artificially planting desert.
