Whole Genome Shotgun Sequence data for two male Thoroughbreds. FAANG WGS - Thoroughbred Stallions

The Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) project aims to identify functional regulatory elements in the genomes of a variety of animal species in both sexes and across stages of development. For the horse, a biobank of tissues and cells was previously created for adult Thoroughbred mares. This project extended those data to the collection of over 100 tissues from each of two adult Thoroughbred stallions. These tissues are being studied to characterize gene expression profiles and epigenetic modifications (histone modification, TCTF binding). Short-read sequence of genomic DNA from each stallion is made available to complement these efforts.
