Human breastmilk and infant gut micro- and mycobiome amplicon sequencing

Bacterial 16S and fungal ITS amplicons were generated from DNA isolated from human breastmilk and human infant fecal samples. Fecal samples were collected from healthy infants at 1 and 6 months of age. Milk samples were collected from infant mothers at 1 month postnatal clinic visits. The dataset is unique in that the majority of infants were not exposed to antibiotics and were exclusively breastfed, allowing better control of two major potential gut microbiome and mycobiome modulators.
