This project aims to understand the maintenance processes such as DNA and proteins repair during the long-term survivability of hyperthermophiles in oligotrophic environments. By using RNA-Seq, transcriptomic data were generated from starved Thermococcus litoralis in order to identify key genes potentially involved in protein and DNA repair during the survival under prolonged starvation at high temperature.
