Ethnobotanical Survey of Toxic and Medicinal Plants in the El Tarf Region (Algeria).

This study provides an overview of the knowledge and use of toxic plants with therapeutic properties and medicinal plants with adverse effects among the population of the El Tarf region. Ethnobotanical data were collected from 121 informants through semi-structured interviews. Socio-demographic information and details on plant use were recorded. The data were analyzed using ethnobotanical indices, including Frequency of Citation (FC), Relative Frequency of Citation (RFC), Use Value (UV), Family Importance Value (FIV), Family Use Value (FUV), Informant Consensus Factor (ICF), and Fidelity Level (FL). Chi-square tests were also performed.
