This dataset provides a detailed genomic analysis of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) gene, based on 186,457 high-quality, full-length genomes aligned to the Wuhan-Hu-1 reference (NC_045512.2). Key findings include: Mutation Variability: Mutation frequencies were calculated at both nucleotide and amino acid resolutions, identifying critical hotspots in regions such as the Receptor-Binding Domain (RBD), N-terminal Domain (NTD), and Furin cleavage site. Results highlight strong selective pressures linked to immune escape and transmissibility, offering a dynamic view of viral adaptation over time.
