Fawcett M.D. The secretory granules from surface mucous cells of the guinea pig stomach are large and pleiomorphic. They are osmiophilic and thus have an intense black appearance, unusual for vesicles whose contents are rich in carbohydrates. Image by Dixon Hingson.
