Infants stool microbiome

Bacterial colonization in infancy is critical window for ordinary development of immune system and its disturbance may cause allergy development in late life. In the present study, we surveyed signatures in the developmental gut microbiota associated with childhood allergy. We conducted a prospective study on the relationship between developmental food allergy in 2 years of age and gut microbiota in infancy. fecal samples were collected at 1, 2, 6 months and 1 year of life form infants who were born in St. Mary's hospital in Kurume city, Japan, and 16S rRNA V1-V2 region was sequenced by MiSeq. We show that gut microbiota in food allergy infants had a significantly difference at lactation and weaning.
