Conservative and religious civil society organizations on future of Europe

As part of a research within EU3D. Differentiation. Democracy. Dominance funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme (Societal Challenges 6: Europe in a changing world – Inclusive, innovative and reflective societies) under Grant Agreement no. 822419 Work Package 5 analysed the debate on the Future of Europe. Citizens, institutions, politicians, civil society organisations and other actors have contributed to this debate with proposals. While much attention has been paid to the proposals of institutional actors, the proposals of civil society remain unexplored. The aim of the task conducted by Katarzyna Zielińska was to analyse conservative and religious civil society organizations reactions to reform of the EU proposals and these organization’s visions of future of the EU. Specifically, it aimed to analyse how such organizations envision the values and norms in which the EU should be embedded, what sort of the EU polity (and its relationship with member states) and policies they see as relevant for implementation of such visions.
