The MBL consists of high-resolution images and databases of brains from many genetically characterized strains of mice. There are numerous uses of the MBL, but our own mission is to systematically map and characterize genes that modulate architecture of the mammalian CNS. For example, we want to understand much more about normal genetic variants that generate differences in cell populations and cell phenotypes in hippocampus, cerebellum, striatum, olfactory bulb, thalamus, and neocortex. For this reason, MBL databases also include detailed information on genomes of many strains of mice. The collection now consists of images from approximately 800 brains and numerical data from just over 8000 mice.
小鼠脑库(MBL)收录了多种经遗传特征鉴定的小鼠品系的高分辨率脑部图像及相关数据库资源。尽管该库拥有诸多应用场景,但我们的核心研究任务是系统性地绘制并鉴定可调控哺乳动物中枢神经系统(CNS)结构的基因。例如,我们希望深入解析能够导致海马体、小脑、纹状体、嗅球、丘脑以及新皮层中细胞群与细胞表型产生差异的正常遗传变异。基于此研究目标,小鼠脑库的数据库亦收录了多种小鼠品系的基因组详细信息。目前,该数据集已包含约800份脑部图像以及超过8000只小鼠的相关数值数据。
