This dataset is compiled from the socio-economic statistical data of Chongqing, a municipality directly under the Central Government and a provincial/municipal-level typical zone within the key Shelter Forest Program area. It records the indicators, 1999 values, 2000 values, and index (with 1999 as the base year, 1999=100) for tourist arrivals and tourism revenue of Chongqing during 1999–2000, as well as comprehensive statistical data covering various aspects including population, industrial and agricultural production, fixed asset investment, infrastructure construction, tourism development, residents' livelihoods, commodity prices, local public finance, industrial enterprises, transportation, post and telecommunications, cultivated land and grain production, education and public health, and others.
