Seismic Broadband Data

This project aims to characterise the seismicity and nature of seismic noise of the South West of Perth Basin and Otway Basin, Victoria. Currently, a sparse seismic network of 14 stations has been operated across the region to monitor seismic wavefield continuously. The high fidelity data at each station is obtained from a combination of broadband seismic sensor and a geophone, which covers a large spectrum in the seismic band. In addition to the current data acquisition, a large N seismic array dataset from Otway Basin is going to be used in characterisation of the region. This dataset has been acquired with the funding from state and federal governments. We will use the continuous noise wavefield to increase the resolution.
