资源简介:
The horn fly, Haematobia irritans irritans (Linnaeus, 1758) (Diptera: Muscidae), a hematophagous ectoparasite of cattle, causes considerable economic losses to the livestock industry worldwide. This pest is mainly controlled with insecticides; however, horn fly populations from several countries have developed resistance to many of the products available for their control. The resistance mechanisms associated with pesticide resistance in horn fly include, target site insensitivity, metabolic detoxification and altered behavior. In an attempt to better understand the horn fly and the development of insecticide resistance, we used an Illumina paired-end read approach to determine the transcriptome of the various life stages and tissues from the fly.
