Code and Data StructureThe repository contains three core components: 1. Fortran source code (Fortran code.zip) 2. Generated NetCDF data files 3. MATLAB visualization code (Matlab code.zip) Fortran Code Execution: Executing the Fortran code generates NetCDF files containing model outputs including temperature, salinity, currents, bathymetry, and sea surface height. Directory Organization:The Fortran code.zip archive contains 10 directories, each named according to: · Topographic steepness parameter (A) · Coriolis force inclusion (cf)Example directory names: · A=0-0cf: Strait topography (A=0) without Coriolis force · A=0.8: Sill topography (A=0.8) with Coriolis force (f=10⁻⁴) · A=0 zerostart: The codes of “4.2.1 Channel zero start-up example”: strait topography (A=0) with Coriolis force (f=10⁻⁴) and sea water stays still. Each directory includes three key source files: 1. Original POM model (pom2k.f) 2. Parameter-configured POM (pom2kba.f) 3. Enhanced POM with the variable-limit integration method (pomdsba.f) Compilation Commands:Within each directory: 1. make ba: o Executes pom2kba.f o Generates output: pom2kba.nc (standard POM) 2. make dsba: o Executes pomdsba.f o Generates output: pomdsba.nc (variable-limit integration enhanced POM) NetCDF File Naming Convention:Files follow: <model>_<topography>_<coriolis>.ncExamples: · pom2kba-ibm-4-0cf.nc:Standard POM · A=0.4 · No Coriolis · pomdsba-imvl-2.nc:variable-limit integration enhanced POM · A=0.2 · With Coriolis (f=10⁻⁴) MATLAB Visualization:The Matlab code.zip contains all figure-generation scripts named as f<number>.m (e.g., executing f11.m reproduces Figure 11 from the manuscript).
