The Meissner effect, the expulsion of magnetic fields, is a hallmark quantum phenomenon of superconductors. Exploring analogous phenomena in low dimensional quantum system remains a longstanding challenge. Here, we report the observation of Meissner-like photon currents in a quantum Rabi zigzag chain under a staggered synthetic magnetic field. The ground state of the Meissner superradiant phase features persistent chiral edge currents, which emerge from the cancellation of antiparallel vortex pairs, akin to the surface currents in the superconducting Meissner effect. This anomalous phase exhibits distinct vortex structures and unconventional scaling exponents arising from geometric frustration. Remarkably, the robust antiparallel vortex pairs and persistent edge currents demonstrate a quantum-Hall-like robustness, linked to symmetric photon configurations. Our findings pave the way for observing stabilized photon vortices and edge currents with analogy to quantum Hall-like robustness in light-matter coupling systems.
