Pica and Oral Microbiome in Pregnancy

In this study, we want to understand how pica, iron deficiency anemia, and food insecurity can affect the health of pregnant women. Pica is the craving and/or eating of non-food substances such as clay, soil, ice, and cornstarch. Your contribution to this study will help us learn about pica practices among pregnant women and assess how the practice affects your anemia status and health. We will use the results to develop treatment and educate people.
