Hydroclimatic Extremes Reorganize Carbon–water Coupling Despite Rising Water-use Efficiency in Woody and Herbaceous Ecosystems on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau

Here, we quantified growing-season WUE dynamics across the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau during 2001–2024 and examined event-scale responses of woody and herbaceous ecosystems to extreme heat, cold, drought, and wet conditions. We further partitioned WUE anomalies into gross primary productivity- and evapotranspiration-related components.
