Diaporthe caulivora strain:VNIIKR SE Dcaul3 Genome sequencing and assembly

Diaporthe caulivora is a causal agent for soybean stem canker and seed decay. Since, according to the phytosanitary requirements, soybean imports must be free from this fungal pathogen there is need to accurate pathogen identification for effective disease management in order to increase the export potential of the country. The D. caulivora isolate VNIIKR SE Dcaul3 was obtained from affected soybean stems in Primorsky Krai of Russia. The whole genome sequencing of D. caulovora was carried out to design of the DNA-markers, which can be useful in phytosanitary monitoring of pathogen spread, pathogenicity assay, mating-type diagnosis, selection and other techniques requiring evaluation the genetic diversity of closely related Diaporthe isolates collected on soybean, which cannot be separated based on morphological characteristics.
