In 2022, approximately 60 percent of motor insurance claim payouts in Ireland were due to third party injury. While this was an overwhelming share of the benefits to be paid, it constituted just a small number of claims. Windscreen and accidental damage on the other hand were much more common but with lower average claim cost.
