An Empirical Investigation of the Experiences of Dyslexic Software Engineers - Dataset

This dataset contains supporting documents for the paper titled, "An Empirical Investigation of the Experiences of Dyslexic Software Engineers", published at CHASE conference 2026. The files are as follows: consent_form.pdf - contains the informed consent used during interviews. interview_guideline.pdf - contains the interview instrument. searchTerms.txt - contains the exact search terms used for the different sub-reddits. codes_reddit.xlsx - contains the full dataset of reddit posts with corresponding codes. codebook.xlsx - contains examples of quotes and codes used for the categories discussed in the paper. Note that these are only excerpts and not the full mapping of quotes to categories. For the coding files, note that we used primarily in-vivo coding. As such, codes use the exact words used by the authors. This means that codes typically do not overlap. Similarly, it is not feasible or desirable to calculate inter-rater agreements or similar consensus measures.
