HFMD and CNS diseases induced by different clinical isolates of EV71 and CVA16 in hSCARB2-Tg mice.

1-d-old Tg and non-Tg mice were injected s.c. with 1×107 pfu of E59 or N-2838, and 7-d-old Tg and non-Tg mice were injected with 3×104 pfu of 5746 or N-3340 EV71 strains or 3×105 pfu of CVA16. The signs of HFMD and CNS diseases were monitored. The incidence of severe disease (the number of animals scored >3) on day 10 post challenge was shown as the percentage rate (number of mice with disease per total number of tested mice).#disease was not detected.
