资源简介:
In 2002 PSI/Myanmar sought to regularly conduct a quantitative study on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding HIV/AIDS and condom use among two target groups nationwide. The selection of the research agency and study sites as well as the development of the study design and questionnaire took some time. Data collection finally commenced for the first round in December 2002 and was completed in January 2003. A second round was completed during the same months in 2004 and the third round was completed in January 2005. Prior to data collection, areas where female sex workers (FSWs) and male sentinel occupational groups congregate were mapped in order to identify study areas and estimate population sizes. Individual face-to-face interviews were carried out with each population by trained interviewers using a structured questionnaire. Multivariate analyses were conducted to identify significant factors associated with consistent condom use and to evaluate the impact of program exposure on behavior and determinants of behavior. Trend analyses were performed on monitoring data, controlling for population characteristics.
