Images from a Historic Building Recording Survey at Patty's Farm, Cockerham, Lancashire, March 2024

This collection comprises images from a historic building recording survey at Patty's Farm, Cockerham, Lancashire. This work was undertaken by Stephen Haigh (Buildings Archaeologist) in March 2024. The single-storey shippon was built in the second half of the 19th century primarily as a cowhouse. The building is of stone with an L-shaped plan. The building is plain, but was obviously constructed with ease of function in mind, and represents a late example of a vernacular farm building, built using primarily local materials, which has been little altered.
