African swine fever virus Liv13/33 - Genome sequencing and assembly

The strain Liv13/33 was initially isolated in 1983 from a O. moubata in Livingstone (Zambia, Africa). We used this strain to study the transmission between SPF pig and ticks of Ornithodoros moubata species. The uninfected tick was provided by the CIRAD laboratory, France. Ticks were experimentally infected, in the Anses laboratory of Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort (France), by feeding on an infected pig inoculated intramusculary with the strain liv13/33 provided by Dr. Linda Dixon (OIE reference laboratory, Pirbright Institute, UK). The sequences deposited in this project were isolated from pigs or ticks infected during this transmission study.
